When teeth need more than a cleaning

Damaged, decayed, or missing teeth affect more than just appearance. They change how you bite and chew, put extra stress on surrounding teeth, and — if left unaddressed — often lead to more significant and more costly problems over time. Restorative dentistry is about addressing those issues with solutions that look natural, hold up to everyday use, and give you back full function.

At Advanced Dentistry of Mooresville, we use modern, tooth-colored materials whenever clinically appropriate. That means restorations designed to blend in rather than stand out — patients are often surprised by how seamless the results look. Dr. Lindsey brings both the clinical expertise and the aesthetic attention to detail to make restorative work feel like it was never done.

Restorative treatments we offer

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite resin fillings are matched to the natural color of your tooth, making them virtually invisible once placed. They bond directly to the tooth structure, which typically means less tooth structure needs to be removed for your filling to be done compared to what has to be removed for placement of the old amalgam fillings. If you have old silver fillings you'd like replaced, we can discuss whether that makes sense for your particular teeth.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a custom-crafted cap that covers and protects a tooth that's too damaged for a filling alone — whether from decay, fracture, or following a root canal. They are bonded or cemented to your natural tooth underneath, and you can brush and floss around them like normal. Modern crowns are made from high-strength ceramic or zirconia that withstands biting forces while looking natural.

Dental Bridges

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth (or teeth) to the natural teeth on either side of the gap. A well-made bridge restores the ability to chew and speak normally and prevents neighboring teeth from drifting into the empty space — something that happens more quickly than most people expect.

Dental Implants

Implants are the closest thing dentistry currently has to a natural tooth. A titanium post is placed into the jawbone where the missing root once was, and once it integrates with the bone, a crown is attached above the gum line. Implants don't require altering neighboring teeth, and they preserve jawbone density in a way that bridges and dentures cannot. We provide implant crowns, place implants, and/or work with trusted surgical specialists when needed.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

Dentures remain a well-established option for patients who need to replace multiple or all teeth. We invest real time in the fitting and adjustment process to ensure dentures are comfortable, functional, and look the way you want them to. Implant-supported dentures are also available for patients looking for greater stability.

Not sure where to start? If you have multiple teeth that need attention, we'll walk you through the options in priority order — addressing what's most urgent first and building a realistic plan that fits your schedule and budget. There's no pressure to do everything at once.

What to expect

Most restorative appointments are completed comfortably with local anesthesia. We'll always explain what we're doing and why before we begin, and we take seriously the responsibility of making dental work as comfortable an experience as possible. Patients who haven't been to the dentist in years are always welcome — we'll meet you where you are.
